Follow not in the footsteps of the masters, but rather seek what they sought.” Unknown

Share the vision and passion of those that have inspired you. However don’t try to copy their style and do things exactly the way they did them. Allow your own personality, giftedness, and experiences to shape how you do things.
BE UNIQUE (2)

Have you ever noticed that when you find someone really inspiring, you tend to want to do things just like that person? I have caught myself doing that. I always have to remind myself that I am uniquely crafted, and there is no human being who has lived, is living, or will ever live who can do what I’ve been created to do. Trying to be someone else enslaves the true me.

I think the same is true for all of us. If you take just a cursory look at the human genome, you will realize that we are amazingly complex creatures and all of us are wonderfully made and very unique and different from each another. Our different sets of circumstances and experiences just add to that uniqueness. Nature and nurture make us very different from each other. Our pursuits in life must be congruent to who we are as people–our spiritual values, passions, abilities, personalities, and experiences.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalmist
