Dr. Ivan Joseph nails the skill of self-confidence in this video. He says you develop it by:
Persistence. Repetition and not quitting. Malcolm Gladwell talks about the 10,000 hr rule. It took 1,000 to 10,000 trials for Edison to make the light bulb. He didn’t quit.
Self-talk. Stop negative self-talk. Repeat positive self-talk. You need to have great positive self-talk or self-affirmations. Mohammad Ali used to say, “I am the greatest, there is no one better than me.” Stay away from the people who put you down.
Focus on the positive. Praise positive behaviors. Don’t focus on correcting negative behavior.
