The 7 Core Values of the U.S. Army

The U.S. Army is a very successful organization. Core values shape the culture of an organization. What are their core values?

The mnemonic LDRSHIP helps soldiers remember these core values.

  • Loyalty,
  • Duty,
  • Respect,
  • Selfless service,
  • Honor,
  • Integrity, and
  • Personal courage

Loyalty: Bear true faith and allegiance to the US Constitution, the Army, your unit or organization, and other soldiers and co-workers.

Duty: Fulfill your obligation.

Respect: Treat people as they should be treated.

Selfless Service: Put the welfare of the nation, the Army, and subordinates before your own.

Honor: Live up to all the Army values.

Integrity: Do what’s right, legally and morally.

Personal Courage: Face fear, danger, or adversity (physical or moral).

Kenneth’s mission is to use medicine, spiritual formation, poverty alleviation, and leadership development to help people live lives to the fullest. He holds two doctorate degrees: the first is in medicine and the second is in spiritual formation.
